When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Happy Sunday! 1 more day left of relaxing before the longest work week in the world, atleast for me! I'm not looking forward to it. But I am looking forward to relaxing today.

Yesterday after our wedding planning adventures we relaxed for awhile, it got a little cloudy so I thought that would be a good opportunity to run. Wrong. It was so humid. I don't think I've ever felt so awful. I did 1.5 miles but hated every second of it. This isn't really the weather to get me back into running, but I'm going to keep going. Hopefully I don't lose momentum this week.

After running we took off to run some errands and then it was date night again! We had to celebrate because fiance is almost done with his 3rd grad school class and he's going to get an A in his class! He's in an online master in electrical engineering program through the University of Florida. He spends a lot of time on class and works super hard so we had to celebrate almost being done with the class and doing so well! He'll still be taking classes for another year and a half but then we'll have have a big celebration!

We went to McGuire's in Destin for dinner. It's a really great place with a great atmosphere. It gets a little crowded there in the summer because of tourists, but it's a big place so there's never a long wait. Our favorite thing to eat there is their burgers. They have a wide assortment from a Mushroom Gravy burger (my favorite) to a pizza burger to a Krispy Kreme burger. I'm not kidding about the Krispy Kreme. They cut a glazed donut in 2 and put a burger in between. I know because we've had one before. Well not me, but someone we went with and everyone had to try a bite. It actually didn't taste that bad. Sweet and salty. Last night we had Senate Bean Soup

I think the fact that it's 18 cents (yes, cents) makes it worth every penny! all 18 of them!

My mushroom gravy burger. Yummmmmm! It's soo good!

Fiance's black and bleu burger. His favorite. The burgers are not good for you, totally breaks all of my diet rules, but every now and then, you just have to have a burger. While listening to Irish music and getting it all for free because of a gift card just made it all the better!

My brothers' favorite part of McGuire's is that you can hang a dollar bill on the wall and write a message on it. Waiters will give you a marker and staple gun to use. I'd love to find all the dollar bills we have hung up there and read what they all said! We've been coming here for 2 years now and bring friends with us every time so we've contributed quite a few dollars to this collection...

That is just the ceiling above us. In one of the 3 or 4 huge dining areas, not including all the walls that are plastered with dollar bills as well. They have to count all the money for insurance purposes and a waiter there told us once there was something like $600,000 on the walls and ceilings. How crazy is that? They take them off the wall and put them on the ceiling and when it's all full they take them down and start over again!

With full bellies and happy hearts, we headed home to bed :)
