The secret to a good cup of coffee

Happy Monday everyone! I tried something today that may change my life. I make coffee at home or at work to save money. I practically never get coffee out. When I do I'm always so jealous of how great it tastes. But today, I solved the puzzle. Freshly grinding the beans before brewing makes all the difference in the world! Now as I sit here sipping on my Mountain Moonlight organic, fair trade, freshly ground and brewed coffee I'll tell you about our day yesterday.

It started out like any other day in Florida. It was sunny. Then it rained. And this cycle continued all day long, making it nearly impossible to do anything. We attempted cutting the grass and trimming the hedges but we got about half way through the front yard before a downpour. We were planning on having a picnic. We went to the store, bought all of the goods, came home, saw more thunder and lightening and just gave up our hopes and dreams and settled for fiance experimenting on how to make the best steak ever. I did not object.

He sat down with his Mastering the Grill for nearly an hour, taking the steak out of the fridge, making sure it was room temperature, pre-heating the grill, doing everything that I'm usually too lazy or too hungry to mess with. Who has 30 minutes after working all day to sit and wait for the steak to be room temperature? Not I. I kept myself busy in the kitchen though preparing a salad and baked potato. For probably under $10 we had a meal that would cost you atleast $30 out on the town. The end result was well worth the wait!

Isn't that one big piece of steak? Neither of us could eat it all.
and my delicious salad. Dried cranberries, walnuts, onions, feta and spinach tossed in a raspberry vinaigrette. I decided next time I'm making my own dressing though because it was pretty bland. But overall it was still good!

Hope everyone has a good Monday! :)
