Where were you 4th of july 2007?

I hope everyone had a fun, safe 4th of July! This was definitely a 4th of July for the record book.

The fair on Saturday was a little ridiculous. I'm not sure if I've just grown up so I now actually look at more people than the cute boys (the entire reason to go to the fair when we were all 16), or if it's just gone down hill, but it's country. Very very country.

Yesterday was my bridal shower!! Which consumed most of the morning. My brother and I attempted to make Kahlua. Key word being attempted. I'll share the recipe and our massive fail story later.

Then it was work work work to get ready for the shower. It was at my parent's house to keep it simple. It's big enough, everyone knows where it is, and it was a great spot since I had a few out of town special visitors who were crashing with us for the night.

The favors: Some of my mom's homemade jam. Our colors are black and white so that's why all the decorations were black and white.

And desserts...

The cupcake tree is one of the presents from my mom.

The super special out of town guests! Sara and Vicky live in Arizona! They flew into Virginia to visit their families and made the drive up just for the shower!! I felt so honored that they'd go through so much trouble just to see me!

Lots of gifts :)

Then it was off to see fireworks! We sat in the back of my dad's truck and enjoyed a fireworks show. While sitting in the truck we discuss where we were on previous 4th of July's. My friend Erica and her fiance (husband on Saturday!) were trying to figure out each of their holidays since they'd been together. It's crazy to think of how things have changed over the years. It was so great to catch up with my long time best friends.

oh hey fiance! Long time no see! He went with my brothers and dad to play golf to avoid the girly stuff all day.

I hope everyone had as good of a 4th of July as I did!
