Chocolate makes breakfast better

The fiance decided this morning he wanted to eat more waffles. Luckily, we still have some. They're on their last leg though. Well he decided he had to cover them in chocolate chips, put them in the microwave and get an oozy goozy chocolatey mess. He was so proud he took a picture for everyone. Silly boy.

He laughed at my healthy breakfast, but I was pretty proud of myself because this was by far the most successful attempt at overnight oats.

I added some chocolate on top so we would be on the same playing field.

Here's what was in the mix:
Overnight Oats
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Almond Breeze
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Dash of brown sugar
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Dash of vanilla

This morning I put half of a frozen banana and about 5 frozen strawberries in the food processor

A very successful round of banana soft serve if I do say so myself! The first time it was more ice cream like than a sloppy mess!
Then I layered it up, tossed on a sprinkling of coconut and chocolate chips for good measure. It was absolutely delicious. The best breakfast I think I've ever made! And that's saying a lot!

Lesson learned: Don't ever give up! Eventually you'll get the recipe right! You can click on the oatmeal label to see all of my failed rounds at overnight oats.

On the side I had some Caftea Iced Coffee.

Don't forget to join my facebook group! If it gets up to 100 members by August 1st I'll be sending a lucky group member some maca powder! If you don't have facebook, you can leave me a comment on here and I'll enter you in.
