Boycotting Heat

Now at 8:25pm the heat index is 99 degrees. Are you serious? According to one of the patient's at our office the heat index earlier in the day was 115 degrees. I'm not sure how legit this is, but I have no doubt it was close.  Dear Florida, you have such pretty beaches, but why must you be so stinking hot?

I sucked it up at about 7pm to get in a 1.5 mile run, or in that range. I have no idea how long it took or even the exact distance because the Garmin decided to stop working. I'm assuming it was boycotting the heat. I don't blame it. I was struggling so I was just trying to go what I knew was close to 2 miles and turn around. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my life. I have, since then, drank 64oz of water. Yowza!

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...I present to you, an overcooked chicken.

It may look good on the outside, but not so good inside. And those are onions around it by the way, they don't really look like it in the picture. I threw it in the crockpot at about 7am. Fiance got home at 4:30 or so, but didn't turn it off. By the time I got home, close to 6 now, it was way past done. I put about 3 cups of water in, along with an onion when I started it, thinking that would keep it tastey and delicious. But it just was dry and gross. I had about 2 bites. What saved the meal was some zuchhini.

I wish I photographed as nicely as roasted zucchini does.

So, due to a hot sticky run, I've decided I need to nibble on some of this...

After it's cooked, of course! In my lovely air popper! That's home grown corn. My dad grows it in our back yard in Pennsylvania. My mom, one of my BBF (biggest blog fans), saw we got a popcorn popper and sent it down for us to have some fresh corn. And for fun...

What better way to enjoy popcorn then in plastic movie popcorn containers with a little dish for butter :) Thanks mom! Anyway, off to watch last night's bachelor while the fiance rolls his eyes and makes fun of me. Goodnight everyone!
