Banana Nana Bread

What do you when you have a ton of frozen bananas that look like this?

You make banana bread! Actually we had a request for the fiance's famous banana bread for a friend's son's birthday party. That was a mouthful. But we have been freezing bananas for awhile now so we had a lot to use up. So we decided to make about 10 loafs of banana bread. No big deal.

I wanted to experiment a bit and see if we could make the recipe a little healthier though.

Note to self: If the little spouty thing is stuck in the salt, it's a BAD idea to try to still pour the salt out OVER the bowl with the other ingredients. Just a heads up for you other blondes out there.

So you mix...
and mix some more...

Then pour.

And magically...
All finished!! Ok after 45 minutes in the oven, so not quite like magic. But still.
Our kitchen exploded. Fiance is cleaning while I blog. He loves me.

We made 2 of our regular batches for RJ's 2nd birthday party this afternoon. Then we decided to play with the recipe.

We found King Arthur Flour Banana Bread Recipe, not our usual, but I liked how it had honey in it. I thought that might be a fun thing to try. We substituted half of the flour with whole wheat flour. We had no applesauce but that might be the next substitute to use less butter.Overall, it tastes pretty good. You can't even tell it's whole wheat.

And now we need to make about 20 more loafs to use up all these bananas. See you later!
